Bangor Daily News yesterday: "The first family will spend next weekend vacationing on Mount Desert Island, according to U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree. President Barack Obama and his family are scheduled to arrive Friday, July 16, and stay through Sunday July 18. Information about where the family would stay and the sights they might take in while visiting Maine was not available Friday night. The visit is a personal family vacation, and no public appearances are scheduled, Pingree said." The article goes on to say that the White House is not telling where the Obama's may stay, but that it will probably be with George Mitchell, U.S. special envoy for Middle East peace. Mitchell owns a house in Seal Harbor and he has two children ages 12 and 9 the same ages as the Obama children.
Wouldn't it be neat if the Obama and the Mitchell children would come to one of my art classes? You never know. Stranger things have happened. I'll be sure to have my camera and you'll definitely see that one on the blog.
