Art all Morning!!!

I worked on encaustics all morning.  I call the one "Streambed" and the other "In the Beginning".  Tonight I want to paint all night--- probably on my oils.  I'm going to make an extra pot of coffee and see what happens.  In Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way, she says, "  Creativity is God's gift to us.  Using our creativity is our gift back to God."  I am trying to do creative work as much as possible.  I will control the quantity and let God control the quality.

Started 2 Oils

I started two oil paintings. The one on the left is a close-up of water in a rocky pool at Schoodic Point. There will be a big area of grass and the reflection of the grasses in the water in the upper right.

The painting on the right is Bob looking out over a wetland area that we visited this morning. I just started it today. I like having several going at once so that while one is drying I can work on another one.

These are promising beginnings. If it rains this weekend as it is supposed to do, I will work in the studio and get these two paintings done. Keep checking back. I'd like some critiques when they are done.
